This summer I worked at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA on the Solar Cell Array Tester (NPS-SCAT. ha. ha.) It’s a nanosatellite, and it’s supposed to launch on SpaceX Falcon 1E in April 2011!
I also had some fun with the rocket team, working on an autonomous parasail that was supposed to be popped out of the 12 ft rocket close to apogee. The parasail didn’t pop out, but there was a totally ridiculous onboard video of the launch. We launched way out in the Mojave Desert. Mad props to Adam Yingling and the rest of the team for making the video.
